Reverse: P M TR P III COS P P – Gordian III, in military attire, with cloak flying behind, on horse prancing left, raising right hand and holding spear in left hand 

The Inscription reads: Pontifex Maximus, Tribunicia Potestate Tertia, Consul, Pater Patriae. – High priest, holder of tribunician power for the third time, consul, father of the nation.
