The inscription reads: Imperator Gordianus Pius Felix Augustus – Supreme commander (Imperator), Gordian, the pious emperor (Augustus).

Reverse: P M TR P III COS II P P S C – Gordian III, in military attire, standing right, holding transverse spear in right hand and globe in left hand

The inscription reads: Pontifex Maximus, Tribunicia Potestate Tertia, Consul Secundum, Pater Patriae. Senatus Consultum – High priest, holder of tribunician power for the third time, consul for the second time, father of the nation. Decree of the senate.
