The inscription reads: Marcus Commodus Antoninus Pius Felix Augustus Britannicus, Pater Patriae – Marcus Commodus Antoninus, the pious, the fortunate, emperor (Augustus), conqueror of the Britons, father of the nation. 

Reverse: ROM FEL P M TR P XVI COS VI – Roma, helmeted, draped, seated left, holding Victory in extended right hand and spear in left hand 

The inscription reads: Romae, Felici, Pontifex Maximus, Tribunicia Potestate Sexta Decima, Consul Sextum –
Rome The Happy, High priest, holder of tribunician power for the 16th time, consul for the sixth time.
